Anyway, Friday was just a really great day. I woke up to find the best anniversary card ever, created by Skyler. I think she could have a career in the works.
Seriously, the best!!!
I would say I have no idea how that alone can be topped, but!!! Matt also gave me an iPhone!!!! As you may remember, my old one met a tragic end in the park two years ago, when a certain daughter took it out of my purse to play music... and forgot to put it back. Since then, Matt (whose iPhone was stolen) and I got Androids, and they were... okay. But, I just missed my iPhone. I tried really hard to be content, and I know it's just a *thing* but as far as things go, it was a thing I really
The rest of the day was spent doing this and that, getting a little surprise ready for Matt, cleaning house and other thrilling things. That night, we went out on a date to this crepe shop that was really yummy, especially for the dessert crepes. If you go, get the S'mores one. You will almost cry, it's so good.
We came home, and the evening was lovely... until about 1 a.m. when I woke to the sound of Lilly sobbing. I found her in the bathroom by the toilet, saying her stomach hurt really bad. Ugh. I got her settled down and camping out by the toilet and hoped it was nothing, and then just as I was dozing off again, I heard her throwing up. Of course, not in the toilet, despite its proximity. So I broke out the bleach and did a load of laundry. She threw up again, and then fell asleep... and just as I was dozing off again, Wyatt started throwing up. For an hour -- an hour, people -- he threw up almost without stopping. Then, just as suddenly as it started, he fell asleep, and when he woke up a few hours later it was like nothing had happened. For him anyway. I was exhausted. So weird!! Matt and I both felt like it must have been something they ate because it started at almost the same time, but they ate the exact same thing their big sisters ate. And the bigs were fine.
Anyway, needless to say, Saturday morning was mostly a foggy haze for me. I think I went for a walk and I know I made pancakes. After a nap, I felt refreshed, though, and since no one had puked again, we headed to the beach.
That night we watched The Intouchables, which I highly recommend. Yeah, it's got some stuff that I don't agree with, but the story is so amazing. And it's surprisingly hilarious.
Church the next day, which seems to be a great place, and then more swimming, relaxing, and general good family time... While I would say that if any intestinal bugs come around here, we have a "Get Out of Jail Free" card for maybe the next three years (at least), this weekend was jyyyuuuuuussssttt about perfect!
